Coachella’s fourth incarnation saw record numbers, and there’s good reason for it, including a healthy dose of stoner rock (Jack Johnson, Ben Harper, Queens of the Stone Age), rare appearances from EDM heavyweights like Underworld, Deep Dish and Timo Maas, indie heroes like Johnny Marr and Sonic Youth and ground zero for the return of Iggy and the Stooges. 2003 also marks Coachella’s only appearances of both Beastie Boys and The White Stripes. The lineup loses points for TWO STRAIGHT NIGHTS of the Blue Man Group.
Reunited and it feels so good: Iggy & the Stooges
Future BFD (Big Fucking Deal): Black Eyed Peas (ugh).
Canada Represent: Hot Hot Heat
